We thought it would be difficult to put Zoey to bed when daylight savings time rolled around. But so far so good! Sometimes, though, we can put her to bed without turning the light on. And since she's gotten more mobile, active, and aware, she doesn't just fall asleep when she gets put in her crib, no matter how drowsy she is after her bedtime bottle; she needs to play with the toys in her crib first.
It's never a big deal, she'll just play and - I watched her - flop over and settle in. On Saturday, after putting her to bed, I had to walk past her room in order to get into mine. When I peeked in, I saw her on her knees playing with the piano that hangs from the rails. It plays lullabies but I guess is also incredibly entertaining. When I came back into the hallway, I thought I had managed to position my body against the linen closet so that I could peek in her room without her seeing me.
Nope.
I peeked my head around the corner and she was staring right at me.
Then she went, "Mom!"
A happy Mother's Day, indeed.
